As Senior Director in the Economics department at Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), I am passionate about using mapping tools, economics, and data visualization to shape better environmental policies.
My current research focuses on informing the design of effective climate policy and exploring environmental impacts to vulnerable communities. My team and I employ spatial analysis, economic modeling, and other skills to further EDF’s research efforts in order to better understand the science behind environmental problems and their policy solutions.
- Some examples of recent projects include:
- Building the U.S. Climate Vulnerability Index, and associated research to depict climate impacts on vulnerable communities;
- a demographic study and data dashboard populations living near oil and gas wells in the U.S.;
- a Chemical Exposure Action Map of the U.S., depicting risks from toxic chemical exposure.
